Priscilla Lang

Priscilla Lang of Gulfport, MS was called home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. She was 68 years old. Born on August 3rd, 1938, Bert, as she was affectionately called, was the daughter of the late Willie and Ethel Mae Hutson from Gulfport, MS. Anyone who knew Bert, a devout fan of the Chicago Bears and the Los Angeles Lakers, knew that she celebrated life with an infectious zest. Her deep-seated compassion for her family, especially her children and grandchildren, shaped the thickness of her will and character. Often, Bert would spoil her loved ones by cooking their favorite meals or desserts. And when the Mississippi heroine was not stirring the rue for her famous gumbo or baking from scratch her scrumptious cakes or brownies, she was participating in her true passion--shopping. She was well known at the local Thrift Store on Pass Road. Bert even dreamed of opening a boutique. A host of individuals are left to cherish her life, her work, and her strong family legacy: her husband, Kenneth Lang; her five children, Brenda Wells, Jeffery Weston, Stanley Weston, Keith Barnes all of Gulfport, MS; and Gwen Weston of Houston, Texas; her son-in-laws, Herbert G. Wells, Sr. of Gulfport, MS and George Mason of Houston, TX; her daughter-in-law, Phallene Barnes of Gulfport, MS; her six brothers, Emerson Hutson, Tyrone Hutson, Sylvester (Billy) Hutson, Dennis Hutson, Steve Hutson and Mitchell Hutson, all of Gulfport, MS; her sister, Betty Jo Word of Gulfport, MS; her sisters-in-law, Joyce Hutson, Nell Hutson all of Gulfport, MS, Brenda Hutson of Biloxi, MS and Helen Hutson of Houston, TX; her six grandchildren, Herbert (Candice) Wells, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Marielle Weston of Houston, TX, Jeffery Weston, Jr., Kaitlyn Barnes, Jaylinh Barnes and Madison Barnes all of Gulfport, MS; two great grandchildren, Cameron and Cory Wells of Dallas, TX, and long-time friend, Lynn O'Keefe; and a host of nieces, nephews, stepchildren, relatives and friends. Visitation is from 8:30a.m ~ 9:30 a.m. Services 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at First Missionary Baptist Church of Hansboro. Interment will be at the Biloxi National Cemetery. Arrangements made by BRADFORD-O'KEEFE FUNERAL HOME, Pass Road(228)388-1811. View and sign register book at www.bradfordokeefe.com
