Rachel M. Rake

Rachel Rake, age 24, of Gulfport, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 in Gulfport. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with honors earning a bachelor of science in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. while at USM, she studied business abroad in London at King's College. She also served as the president of the Gamma Tau chapter of the international business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi and was a member of the American Marketing Association, the Business Student Advisory Council and the National Scholars Honor Society. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Harold and Margery Torjusen and Dale Rake. Rachel is survived by her parents, Barry and Pat Rake and sister, Natalie Rake, all of Gulfport; grandmother, Mary Dozier; special friend, Dallas Hannon; favorite uncle, Kip Rake, and cousins, aunts, and uncles. Visitation will be held Tuesday August, 16, 2011 from 6 unil 8:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
