Ralph Preston King, Sr.

Mr. Ralph P. King, age 81, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at his home with his family by his side. Mr. King was born in Montgomery County, MS, on July 5, 1928, and later lived in Pascagoula. He was a retired C/Msgt in the US Air Force, serving in Japan following WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He then worked and retired from Civil Service at Keesler Air Force Base as Deputy Chief Contracting Officer. Mr. King was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Grady King, and Dorothy Hawkins King; and a brother, James Sidney King. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Edna King; two sons, Ralph P. King, II, and Jason S. King, all of Ocean Springs; a sister, Shirley King Blair, of Overland Park, Kansas, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Monday, August 10, 2009, from 11 AM - 12 Noon with a 12 Noon Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
