Rev. Raymond H. Kelly, I, 85, of Perkinston, MS died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in Gulfport.
Rev. Kelly was a native of Moss Point and a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He worked for many years as a carpenter and a shrimp boat captain. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army and the National Guard. Rev. Kelly founded the First Pentecostal Church in Ocean Springs and the last church he served was the Pentecostal Church of Saucier.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Rosa Smith Kelly.
Survivors include eight daughters, Bonnie Wood of Ocean Springs, Sharlan Linton and Yvonne Tolbert both of Biloxi, Catherine Davie of Columbus, GA, Deborah Ketzel, Patricia Smith and Sheryl Schoendorf all of Natchez, MS and Voncele Mondragon of Poplarville, MS; nine sons, Johnny Kelly of D’Iberville, Milton Kelly of Perkinston, Steven Kelly of Ferriday, LA, Raymond Kelly, II and Andy Kelly both of Ocean Springs, Clayton Kelly of Monroe, LA, Donnie Burr of Gulfport, Ricky Burr of Taylor, SC and Jewel Burr of Columbia, LA; 63 grandchildren; and 83 great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm with an 11:00 am chapel service on Friday, May 25, 2012 all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
