Raymond Wilfred Robichaud

Raymond Wilfred Robichaud, age 88, died in Ocean Springs, MS on August 4, 2023.

He had recently moved back to South Mississippi where he always loved the people and the area. He was a long- time resident of Cumberland, RI, but also lived in Pascagoula, MS from the late 1950’s to the early 1980’s. After serving in the US Navy in Korea, Mr. Robichaud initially came to the Gulf Coast where he worked for the Department of Defense at Ingalls. He later worked as a defense contractor in the Washington, DC area until 1995 when he retired and moved back to his hometown area in Rhode Island.

In 1959, he married and later divorced Joy (Gentile) McGary of Pascagoula. Raymond went on to marry Theresa (Lambert) Robichaud, who was his long- time wife until her death in October 2022.

Mr. Robichaud was an avid golfer who belonged to the Pascagoula Country Club for many years where he made a great number of friends. He was also a member of the VFW and American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Donald Robichaud; a son, Donald; and two step children.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Robichaud of Charlotte, NC; his sister, Jean Choiniere; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many friends.

Funeral services will take place at St. Joan D’Arc Catholic Church in Cumberland, RI on Thursday September 7, 2023.
