Rebecca Louise Lowery

Rebecca Louise “Becky” Lowery passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at the age of 61, and was attended by her siblings. She was born on January 13, 1964, at Gulfport, MS. Becky was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lyman. She resided in Saucier, MS at the time of her passing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Melva Lowery; brother and sister-in-law, James and Audrey Lowery; sister Diana Favre; brother-in-law Richard Bond; nephews, Keith Morris, Philip Lowery and Christopher Lowery and cousin Mark Green.

She is survived by her brother Ben (Janis) Lowery; sister, Bevely (Malcolm) Cockrell; brother, Pat Lowery; sister, Jenny Lowery and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

Becky was employed as an associate at the Walmart Neighborhood Market in Orange Grove where she was a favorite among employees and customers alike. She was known for her quick smile, cheerful nature and helpful attitude. Becky was a team player, considered her coworkers as family and went out of her way to care for them based on her genuine concern for them.

She loved the outdoors, canoeing, hiking and bird watching. She enjoyed the quiet solitude of nature in hiking and spotting birds, fascinated by the simplicity, yet vast complexity of God’s creation. Much like her mother, Becky could venture out in the dead of winter and find a bouquet of flowers, knowing the names of each one of them.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate the life of Becky will be held on Saturday morning, February 22, 2025 at the First Baptist Church of Lyman, 14321 Old Highway 49 in Gulfport, MS. Visitation is from 10:30 to 11:30 before the service at 11:30. Interment will be in George Street Cemetery in Petal, MS following the service.
