Reha Premeaux Langlinais

Mrs. Reha Premeaux Langlinais, 99, of Biloxi, MS, died Monday, June 4, 2007, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Langlinais was born December 2, 1907 in Erath, Louisiana and moved to Biloxi at a very young age. Reha was a life-long Member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Biloxi, where she was a member of the Holy Angel Club. A dedicated hard worker, she retired in 1980 at the age of 72 after working in the Biloxi seafood industry for over 60 years. Reha was one of the original Honorary Members of Fleur-de-Lis Society Club and was the oldest member of the Biloxi French Club’s Fleur-de-Lis Ladies Auxiliary. In honor of her 99th birthday Mayor A.J. Holloway decreed December 15, 2006, as "Rhea Langlinais Day". She was also a member of the Golden Age Club and the Biloxi Senior Citizens where she loved to make crafts and ceramics. Reha loved to dance to Cajun waltzes and playing BooRay with her family and friends. Mrs. Langlinais was preceded in death by her husband, Norbert "Stope" Langlinais; her daughter, Lilly Catherine Dalgo; her parents, Theoville and Alicio Premeaux; and a brother, Theonis "Neg" Premeaux. Survivors include her daughters, Verly Davis, Annabelle Bigham and Rosemary Wolf; sister, Mildred Weinowitz; and a brother, Presely Premeaux. Reha was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Motakhaveri and Dr. Martin and their staffs, and to the caregivers of the Ocean Springs Nursing Center for their special care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at 11 a. m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
