Rev. Garlon Pemberton

Rev. Garlon Pemberton, 91, of Biloxi, MS went home to be with his Lord, Sunday, July 27, 2008 in Bay St. Louis. He was born March 17, 1917 in Cameron, Texas and had been a resident the MS Gulf Coast since 1955. During his 65 year ministry, he started and pastored thirteen churches in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi and served as Chaplain of Harrison County during the late 1960's. He also conducted many revivals and mission trips during his later years of spreading the gospel. The driving force of his life was his love and dedication to the Lord Jesus Christ. His constant smile and words of encouragement to all were his trademarks. In addition to being a "fisher of men", he was an avid fisherman. Brother Garlon was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nora Pemberton; four brothers and two sisters, all from central Texas. He was a devoted husband of 67 years to Anna Marie Pemberton and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to his four children, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom survive him. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street at Highway 90, Gulfport with the funeral service immediately following, officiated by Rev.
