Reverend James Allen Haynes, Jr., born September 7, 1927 in Blytheville, AR., died December 23, 2009 in Gulfport, MS. Rev. Haynes was retired from the ministry after 40 years of service. He pastored Taylor Baptist Church, Taylor, MS., Forest Avenue Baptist Church, Biloxi, MS., LaRue Baptist Church, Latimer, MS. and Gulf Gardens Baptist Church, Gulfport, MS. He also served as an auxiliary Chaplain of Santa Maria Del Mar, Biloxi, MS., and was a long time member of the Kiwanis Club. Rev. Haynes was a long time member of the First Baptist Church, Biloxi, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Allen Haynes, Sr. and Zada Stallings Haynes, two brothers, John Haynes and Hiram Haynes and one sister, Patsy Ruth Taylor. Rev. Haynes is survived by his loving wife Inez Gurley Haynes of Gulfport, MS., two sons, Rev. James Wesley Haynes and his wife Cheryl of Biloxi, MS., Roger Blake Haynes and his wife Suzanne of Collinsville, MS., one daughter, Linda Dianne Haynes Lendennie and her husband Benny Joe of Collierville, TN., ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Dr. Max Haynes of Blythville, AR., and four sisters, Carrie Sue Berry of Franklyn, TN., Vera Work of Blytheville, AR., Zada Payne of Marion, AR. and Janet Allene Moorehead of Blythville, AR. Visitation will be on Monday, December 28, 2009 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. with services at 11:00 AM all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Park.
