Reverend Robert Rawsthorne Wilson

Reverend Dr. Robert R. Wilson, age 87, of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2009, in Ocean Springs. Reverend Wilson was a resident of Ocean Springs for the past forty years and was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII He later served as a Chaplain in the US Air Force, retiring after twenty two years of service to his country. He also served as the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs for sixteen years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Anna Jean Wilson. Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Sarah "Sally" Wilson, daughter, Laura Melton, both of Ocean Springs, MS., three sons, Lt. Colonel Donald R. (Rebecca) Wilson of Los Angeles, CA., David Wilson (Nikki) of Pascagoula, MS., and Kenneth G. (Michelle) Wilson of Ocean Springs, MS., and grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Craig, Mark Melton, Jessica Wilson, Shannon and Rob Atkinson, Alyson Wilson, Samuel Wilson, Deva Wilson, Katlyn Wilson and Lindsey Wilson. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, from 6-9 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Wednesday, January 14, 2009, there will be a 10 AM church service, at the First Presbyterian Church in Ocean Springs, where friends may visit from 9-10 AM.
