Rhett Laurence Fontenelle

Rhett Laurence Fontenelle, 60, of Biloxi, MS passed away Friday, July 19, 2024. Rhett was born April 23, 1964 in San Antonio, TX to Dr. Larry J. and Brenda Fontenelle.

In 1982, Rhett graduated from Mercy Cross High School. Following graduation, he obtained his nursing degree from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He worked as an emergency room trauma nurse for 30 years. Rhett’s favorite hobby was watching the LSU Tigers play “Geaux Tigers!” He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, having parties and crawfish and crab boils with friends and family, and traveling.

Rhett is preceded in death by his brother, Chad Michael Fontenelle.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Larry and Brenda Fontenelle; siblings, Michele (Doug) McLeod, Leslie (Bobby) Howarth, Renee (Henry) Davis, Paulette (Robert) Starks, Lawrence J. (Brooke) Fontenelle, Jarrod P. Fontenelle, and Jason Fontenelle; 15 nieces and nephews; and 7 great nieces and nephews.

Rhett loved dogs, so in lieu of flowers, the family requests that anyone who would like to make a donation make it to the Humane Society of South Mississippi at 2615 25th Ave, Gulfport, MS 39501

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Friends may visit one hour prior.

A reception will follow at Our Lady of Fatima Parish Life Center.
