Dick Barnum,81,of Biloxi, MS passed away Monday, September 8, 2008 in Ocean Springs. A professional military man, he took pride in being included in the terminology "The Greatest Generation", having served in WW II when he was 18 years old and continued through the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1967. He was honored in the early 1950's to be assigned to the White House during President Eisenhower's Administration as a member of Air Force One. Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Lou Ann; son, David and his wife, Jane; his daughters, Teresa, Lauren and her husband, Jim; step-daughters, Mindy and Monica; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 12, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
