Richard Giles

Richard Everett Giles, age 76, of Saucier, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in Saucier. He was born in Blue Ridge, VA and had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Long Beach. He retired in 1971 from the U.S.. Navy as a YNC after over 20 years of service and was an alumni of the Presbyterian Home in Lynchburg, VA. Mr. Giles was preceded in death by his parents, James Henry Giles and Lenore Minott. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Giles of Saucier; two sons, John Giles of Thomasville, GA and Douglas Giles of Pensacola, FL; two step-sons, Richard Jones of Pass Christian and David Jones of Tampa, FL; two step-daughters, Vicky Sands of Vero Beach, FL and Jeannie Amstutz of Gulfport; two sisters, Kay Wilson and Mabel Riels, both of Pensacola, FL; grandchildren and great grandchildren. The service be Friday, February 11, 2011 at 8:45 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 8:00 a.m. Interment will follow at at Biloxi National Cemetery, Biloxi with military honors.
