On April 11, 2015, Richard Lincoln Patton, age 70, passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, at his home in Saucier with his wife by his side. His death came after ten and a half years of courageously battling a terminal lung disease. He worked for a time for the U.S. Forestry Service fighting and preventing forest fires, as a boat captain in the off-shore oil industry, as owner/operator of his own OTR truck, as a truck driver/heavy equipment operator for various earth moving companies and finally for the Harrison County Road Department where he retired when his health became disabling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, their first child (unnamed Baby Boy); sisters, Elizabeth Patton and Crystal Patton Daniels LaBauve, and brothers Cleveland Patton and Delmer Patton.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deborah Palmer Patton of Saucier; daughter, Tina Patton Shaw of Saucier; son, Christopher Dalco Patton of Saucier; grandchildren, Blaine (Kayla) Rood, Cheyenne Shaw, Christopher Dalco Patton, Jr., Zane Patton, and Taylor (Tina) Morton; great-grandchildren, Nataleigh Rood and Gracie Morton; sisters, Mary Louise Patton House, Eleanor Jay Tubbs, and Rosalee (Phil) Pearcey; brother, Roy Clifford (Verlean) Patton; a multitude of nieces and nephews, and his four-legged children, Roscoe and Tinkerbell.
The Funeral Service will be held at the O’Neal Road Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 3:00 pm. Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until service time. Burial will follow at Saucier Cemetery.
