Richard "Ricky" Glenn Fayard, Sr.

Mr. Richard "Ricky" Glenn Fayard, Sr., age 43, of Vancleave, MS., died Sunday, December 4, 2011, in Vancleave. Ricky was born on June 28, 1968, in Ocean Springs, MS. He loved to deer hunt, go fishing and loved to Rodeo. He was NASCAR'S #14 Tony "Smoke" Stewarts #1 fan. As stated by friends, he was the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back, even if it was his best one or his last one. He was always polite to everyone and never met a stranger. Ricky was a generous man with a kind nature and always there to help anyone, anyway, anywhere. To many he was Slick Rick or Big Rick but no matter how you knew him you had to like or love him. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard G. Fayard, Jr. and by his father, Lester Fayard. Survivors include his mother, Ruth Fayard of Vancleave, MS., wife, Shelley Fayard, son, Eric T. Fayard, daughter, Ashley L. Fayard, stepson, Chase Creel, granddaughter, Kaisyn A. Fayard, sisters, Marti McGallagher (George Martin), Heather Fayard Keith and Wendy Fayard, brothers, Bobby Fayard (Starlet) and David Fayard (Diana), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be on Friday, December 9, 2011, from 10 am until 11 am, with an 11 am chapel service, all at the Vancleave Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Vancleave #1 Cemetery on Jim Ramsey Rd. Reverend O.W. Myers will officiate the service and the pallbearers will be Tim Fitzgerald, Ross Gaines, LaRon Batson, John McGallagher, Terry Joe Howard and Scott Bigot.
