Richard Melvin “Johnny” Wilson, age 88, of Gulfport, MS, died Thursday, October 31, 2019, in Kiln.
Mr. Wilson was born January 11, 1931, in Gulfport, MS, and was retired as the owner of Wilson’s Garage for 52 years. He attended Gulfport High School and was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He served in the US Army from 1948-1952. His special interests were swimming, fishing and boating.
“Johnny” is survived by his wife, Erma Ladner Wilson, his niece Sonja Cuevas and nephews Kenneth Buley and Donnie Buley; and his sister, Laura Catherine Cottrell. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stewart Merriman Wilson and Nellie Maud Pankey Wilson; his siblings Ruth, Stewart, Edward, Ellen Poss, Samuel, Iva Zanier.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport. Interment will be in Evergreen Gardens, Gulfport, MS.
