Miss Rita Margaret Faurie of Biloxi, died Thursday, December 11, 2008 in Biloxi. Miss Rita was born in Ocean Springs, MS on January 1, 1910 to Alexander and Marie D'Aquin Faurie. During WWII, Rita proudly served her country in the Women's Army Corp (WAC). After an honorable discharge, she worked for the U.S. Government in New Orleans and later at Keesler A.F.B. in Biloxi, MS. Rita lived many years in Waveland, MS before moving to Biloxi. Her favorite pastime was playing the penny slots at Treasure Bay. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Aimee Faurie Starks, Adele Faurie Jordy, Lucy Faurie Duvoisin, four brothers, Charles, Thomas, Oliver and Morris Faurie, her very special niece, Margaret Starks Reinhardt, who cared for her many years. Also, several nieces and nephews who were dear to her. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 15, 2008, 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment is in Biloxi National Cemetery.
