Robbie Jean Benthien

Mrs. Robbie Benthien, age 86, of Ocean Springs, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Benthien was born in Jackson, MS. and had been a resident of the coast for the past 58 years. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Gautier, a den mother for the Cub Scouts and was involved with local humane societies. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother as well as a friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Charles G. Benthien, Jr., daughter, Carolyn Kerr and parents, Leslie and Hallie Lewis. Survivors include a son, Charles Benthien III of Ocean Springs, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 1, 2010, from 1 pm until 2 pm, with a 2 pm Memorial Service, all at the First United Methodist Church of Gautier. Burial will be at a later date. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
