Robert (Bobby) Maurice Webb Butiro, 63, of D'Iberville died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 in Biloxi. Mr. Butiro, Catholic in faith, was born in New Orleans but was a life long resident of the coast. He graduated from St. Martin High School where he excelled in basketball with the Yellow Jackets. He was an avid sports fan; his biggest love was stock car racing; he loved the competition of racing and participated on a regular basis with his son-in-laws, always reaching to achieve the next checkered flag. When he wasn't racing, he was ready to search for another lunker bass. He was a member of Gulf Coast Bass Masters of Long Beach and former member of Pride of the South Bass Club. His love of family; spending time and enjoying life with them was a major part of his life and always came first. He was a very special husband, father and grandfather and was loved tremendously. And last but not least was the enjoyment he gained from the customers he served, befriended and enjoyed seeing each week. Mr. Butiro was employed by G&K Services (previously known as Chin Industries and Concept 29 Uniform Company) for 32 years serving the Mississippi Gulf Coast from state line to state line. He is also a long time member of the Biloxi Elks Lodge No. 606. Mr. Butiro was preceded in death by: his mother, Elizabeth Webb of Ocean Springs, his father, Charles Butiro, of New Orleans, his step-father, Elliott Webb of Ocean Springs, his step-mother, Bessie Butiro of Pearlington, two sisters, Dora Ballard of Pearlington and husband, Winniford of Kentwood, LA and Jean Grove and husband, Charles of Biloxi, four brother-in-laws, Joseph Bennett of Pearlington, Chet Rogers Sr., Thomas Parson Jr. of Biloxi and Robert E. Singleton of Montgomery, AL, his mother-in-law, Mary (Granny) Wooldridge and one grandson, Michael Ladner Jr. of Biloxi. Survivors include: his wife of 28 years, Barbara Ward Shoemaker, two step-daughters, Sonya Ladner, her husband, Mike and their two daughters, Shawndee and Morgan of Biloxi, Tammy Cooper, her husband Rusty and their two children, Garrett and Mackenzee of Saucier, one step-son, Thomas (Bubba) Shoemaker II, his wife, Sabra, and their two children, Brooke and (Tommy) Thomas III of Diamondhead. Other surviving step-children from his previous marriage equally loved are: Elda Coley, her daughters, Tonya and Steshine of Biloxi; Carline Bosarge Jones, her children, Shawn and Jessica of Biloxi, Shelly Barnett of Vancleave, and Jennifer Hester of Escatawpa; and Kathleen Parker, her daughter Katie Yarbrough of Saucier. Two sisters, Blanche Bennett of Pearlington, Louise Rogers Elder of Woolmarket and one brother Salvadore Butiro of Diamondhead. Visitation is Thursday, March 22, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford- O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi (228)374-5650. Services will be on Friday, March 23, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at the D'Iberville Memorial Park.
