Robert “Bobby” Ortiz of Lula, GA, age 70, passed away peacefully in Biloxi on Monday, February 15, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.
Robert was born September 16, 1950 in New York to Vincent and Elba Ortiz. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he traveled the world working as a radar technical instructor. After 25 years of dedicated service, he retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He later graduated from the University of Phoenix and worked as an electronics technician until retiring for the second time in 2018.
In his spare time, Robert did recreational vehicle conversion. He loved to go on road trips and spending time with his family. He was always quick with a humorous comment, and enjoyed making people smile. As a former resident of Biloxi during his tenure at Kessler AFB, he often enjoyed traveling back to the Mississippi Coast to visit family and lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by father Vincent Ortiz. He is survived by mother Elba Ortiz, siblings Elba Ortiz, Lydia Ortiz, and Vincent Ortiz, son Roberto Ortiz, daughter Young Mi Goodman, grandchildren Natalie Ortiz, Gabriel Goodman, and Hannah Goodman, and loved ones Micha Kim Ortiz, Roscinda Matz, Klairissa Matz, C. Thomas Matz, Cheyanne Matz, Lillie Roth, Juniper Matz, and Niles Escochea.
