Robert C. "Bob" Mitzell

Mr. Robert C. "Bob" Mitzel, age 62, of Ocean Springs, MS., lost his battle with cancer and died Saturday, December 17, 2005, in Biloxi, MS. Mr. Mitzel was born on February 5, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of John N. Mitzel and Louise I. Beike. He owned and operated B & L Small Engine Repair for many years. He was employed with the Grand Casino in Gulfport since it first opened and transferred to the Biloxi Grand upon its' opening. He also worked at Hancock Bank, the Jackson County Sheriffs' Department, the Jackson County EOC, and the Ocean Springs Fire Department. He was also an assistant scout master in the 1970's for the Boy Scouts Troop 275. Mr. Mitzel was preceded in death by his wife of 22 years, Aileen (Lee) Mitzel. He is survived by his son, Tim Gray and wife, Janice, of Ocean Springs, MS., brothers, William F. Mitzel of Albuquerque, NM and John T. Mitzel of Berlin Center, OH, sister, Mildred L. Murray of Nacogdoches, TX., three grandchildren, Robert L. Lowery and wife, Cheryl, Stacey Anne Tapper and husband, Robbie, and Heather N. Gray, three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lowery, Landon Lowery and Daxton Tapper, all of Ocean Springs, MS. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, from 4-5 PM, with a 5 PM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home.
