Robert Edward` Atkins

Mr. Robert E. Atkins, 89, of D'Iberville, MS, died Saturday, December 26, 2009, in D'Iberville. Mr. Atkins was born in Danville, VA and had been a resident of the coast since 1947. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps Veteran of WW II, and formerly employed with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He retired from A & P Grocery Store in Gulport. He was a member of the VFW in D'Iberville. Mr. Atkins was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Wells Atkins. He is survived by his brother, Allen Atkins of Blairs, VA; close friend, Jessie Gaines; niece and caregiver, Renee Delahoussaye; many other nieces and nephews and his k-9 companion, Biscuit. Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, where friends may visit from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
