Robert George Lyons, 89, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 in Gulfport. Mr. Lyons was a native and lifelong resident of the coast. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from the United States Postal Service. Mr. Lyons was a life member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #606 and a past exalted ruler. He was a legendary softball coach. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Patsy” Lyons; his sons, Robert G. “Bobby” Lyons, Jr. and Jerry Lyons; his parents, John C. and Adele Peresich Lyons; his sister, Marie Stewart; and his brothers, Joseph Lyons, John Lyons, Matthew Lyons, Jimmy Lyons, Kenny Lyons and Billy Lyons. Mr. Lyons’ survivors include his daughters, Kathy (Kevin) Coggin and Julie (Greg) Williams; his son, Wayne (Lisa) Lyons; his brother, Stephen (Barbara) Lyons; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Seelos Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until Mass time. Interment will follow at Southern Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be Gerry Creel, Steve Lyons and Tony Previto.
