Mr. Robert Earl King Jr., age 70, left this earth to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, surrounded by his family.
Mr. King was born in Biloxi, MS on June 16, 1943, and was a lifelong native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He was of the Baptist faith and served 6 years in the Army National Guard. He was a retired carpenter whose hard work and craftsmanship left a lasting impression for many decades along the coast. Mr. King was also a shrimper and his love and respect of the Gulf waters is unsurpassed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl King Sr, stepson, Terry Lee Gregory and a brother, Oscar Wayne King.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, mother, Lucille Timmons, three daughters, Lisa King (Mark) Meadows, Charlene King (Marty) LeBlanc and Kerry King (Lonnie) Layton, son, Robert Earl (Shirley) King III, stepsons, Carl A. (Mellisa) Gregory and Robert E. (Kathy) Gregory, three sisters, Shirley Greene, Sandra Diane Quave and Betty Torgerson, brother, Eugene King, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 13, 2013, from 6pm until 9pm, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, December 14, 2013, there will be a 10 am service in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Seymour Cemetery on Bayou Talla Road.
He will be greatly missed by many. His family will be forever grateful for the extreme kindness and support over the last few months of his life, from friends, family, and the nurses, aides and staff of Saad's Hospice.
