Robert L. Anderson, Sr., 78, passed peacefully at his home in Gulfport on Saturday, May 23, 2009. He was an electronics technician. He previously served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired Civil Service and from Gruman at Keesler in Biloxi. For many years he and his family ran a dairy in lizana. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as a Family History Missionary in Salt Lake City, Utah with his wife.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Alvin and Doris Anderson; a brother, Alvin Dean Anderson; a sister, Ima Jean Allen; and a granddaughter, Tessa Anderson.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alice O. Lamey Anderson of Gulfport; seven daughters, Deborah (Ray) Childress, Rhonda Anderson, Lanette (David) Sproles, Denise (Wayne) Boller, Michelle Anderson, Jayla Anderson, and Joylyn Anderson; five sons, Robert "Bobby" Anderson, Samuel (Sonijh) Anderson, Dennis (Donna) Anderson, David Anderson, and Jayson Anderson; a brother, Donald (Natalie) Anderson; fifteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral
Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery on Alcede Lizana Road.
