Robert L. Nungesser

Mr. Robert L. Nungesser, 76, of Biloxi, MS, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, May 30, 2010. Bobby was born in New Orleans, LA on March 21, 1934, but grew up in Biloxi, MS where he graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1952. Robert served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1958. Mr. Nungesser worked in the retail seafood business, owning and operating Fish Net Seafood, with locations in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Bobby later returned to Biloxi and was employed by the Isle of Capri Casino. Mr. Nungesser was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Broderick Nungesser, his father, George Nungesser, and a niece, Gena Nungesser Collins. Bobby is survived by his wife, Martha McDermott Nungesser. Also surviving Mr. Nungesser are his brother, Ronald T. Nungesser and his wife Janel, and nephews George S. Nungesser and John B. Nungesser. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral where friends may visit from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, in Biloxi is in charge of services.
