Robert Lawson, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.
Robert was born in Hastings, PA on March 2, 1929 to Alex and Ella Lawson. He moved to Patton, PA in 1944 and graduated from Patton High School in 1948. Robert served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 until 1954. He was also employed in 1956 by the civil service at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS. Robert enlisted in Marine Reserves for 6 years and retired civil service in 1984. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church since 1961, where he was very active, especially with church bingos, from 1959 until 2019. Robert belonged to the Knights of Columbus 1244 from 1962, where he was a 4th degree member from 1961 until his death. He was also active in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School and coached little league baseball for many years with his sons.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Shirley Swab Lawson; sons, Robert (Dixie) Lawson, Joseph (Teresse) Lawson, and Timothy (Sallie) Lawson; daughters, Mary Montgomery and Patrice (Steven) Broussard; sister, Grace (Gail) of TX; 11 grandchildren, Robyn (Nathan) Ball, Conner (Valeska) Lawson, Erin (Justin) Cates, Stefan Lawson, Garet Lawson, Blake (Ashlie) Lawson, Hunter Lawson, Abby Lawson, Glen (Jennifer)Montgomery, Cole Montgomery (fiancé, Elisabeth), Griften Broussard; 5 great-grandchildren, Emry & Cooper Cates, Lane Montgomery, Bailee Lawson, and Maddy Ball; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. all at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with military honors. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, Biloxi, is honored to serve the Lawson Family.
