Mr. Robert "Lee" Chandler, Jr., age 85, of Biloxi, MS., passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2011, in Biloxi, MS.
Mr. Chandler was a native of Forrest County, MS., a resident of Biloxi over 50 years and was a Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church, Biloxi. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, served in WWII and retired from Keesler Air Force Base as a technical writer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Christine Chandler, a brother, Victor Chandler, and a son-in-law, William "Bill" McNatt.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Elsie Holder Chandler and two daughters, Ann C. (Reverend Thomas C.) Byrd and Katherine McNatt, four brothers, Milton Chandler, Carl Chandler, Harold Chandler and Danny Chandler, eight grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, from 10 am until 11 am, with an 11 am church service, all at the First Baptist Church in Biloxi. A private graveside service will be held at McLaurin Cemetery.
The Pass Road Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
