Robert L. “Bob” Mangum, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his bed on December 14, 2020 in Biloxi, MS.
Bob was born on May 23, 1935 in Nampa, Idaho. He attended Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon. Bob then went on to join the Air Force, where he served with distinction and retired at the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War and traveled the world, living at Ramstein AFB in Germany for a time. Bob finally settled on the Gulf Coast, making Biloxi his home and a place that he raised his family. Bob also spent some time in the insurance business, working for Nationwide as an agent for many years. He was a member of Cedar Lake United Methodist Church and of Biloxi Elks 606. He loved to spend time watching westerns on his TV, working on word searches and crosswords, and playing golf. He was a wonderful man, who put his family first and loved them to the very end. Bob had an altruistic heart, always seeking to help out someone before he needed any help.
