Robert Edmund Moniot

Robert E. Moniot, age 84, was born in Biloxi, MS. He was a member of Nativity BVM Cathedral and served as an Extraordinary Eucharistic minister and usher. 

He attended Sacred Heart Academy and was a 1957 graduate of Notre Dame High School. He attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL and Sophia Jesuit University in Tokyo, Japan. 

He served 8 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Service Corpsman and as a member of Mobile Surgical Hospital during the Vietnam War with the rank of S/Sgt. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Mr. Rene and Marion Moniot; brother, Rene Moniot, Jr; and by his sister, Helen Moniot Fabie. He is survived by his children, Monique (James) Greathouse, of Ocean Springs, MS and Andre (Nicole) Moniot, of San Mateo, CA; brother, Charles (Ann) Moniot of Oxford, MS; sister, Maureen Moniot of Biloxi, MS; four beloved grandchildren, Donovan (Aubrey) and Murray Greathouse and Maverick and Olive Moniot; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Nativity B.V.M. Cathedral on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass with interment to follow in Biloxi City Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Nativity B.V.M., DAV.
