Robert Thomas DeNeve , 85, of Diamondhead, MS passed away Monday January 26th. Bob was born in 1923 in Detroit, MI to Marcel and Gladys (Butler) DeNeve. He moved to Vermont when he was nine and graduated from Bristol High School, Bristol, VT.
In 1943 he entered the US Army and was trained as a navigator on B29s. He served in the Pacific until severely wounded and received the DFC, Air Medal and Purple Heart retiring as a 1st Lieutenant.
After graduating from The University of Vermont in 1949 Bob served as an Agent for U.S. Customs until retiring in New Orleans in 1978 as Southeast Director of Investigations.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Bernice DeNeve, three sons, Richard, Robert, Mark, and brother Ronald. His son Kurt predeceased him. He was blessed with seven grand children and two great grand children.
The service will be held Friday, January 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
