Roberta Marie Ramsay Tonner

Roberta Marie Ramsay Tonner, age 70, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, August 26, 2010 in Ocean Springs. Mrs. Tonner was a lifelong resident of the coast and was a graduate of St. Martin High School, Class of 1957. She was employed and retired from the Biloxi V.A. Medical Center. She was a member of NARFE, National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Tonner, Jr.; parents, Elliott and Catherine Ramsay; brother, Elliott Ramsay and her niece, Beverly "Boogie" Glass. Survivors include two daughters, Renee' Mabry (Robert) of Ocean Springs, MS. and Zettie Bowe (Lee) of Colorado Springs, CO.; two sons, Billy L. Jerrels (Lita) of Houston, TX.; and James Tonner (Dawn) of Ocean Springs, MS.; one sister, Beverly Glass of Houston, TX.; one brother, Marvin Ramsay; twelve grandchildren, Melissa Jerrels, Michelle Jerrels, Brian Jerrels (Mina), Tyler Jerrels, Nikki Bigalbal all of Houston, TX., Natalie Bigalbal of San Antonio, TX., Valerie Mabry, Ashley Mabry both of Ocean Springs, MS., Christina Bowe, Brandon Bowe both of Colorado Springs, CO., Nicholas Saldiveri and Rosanna Tonner both of Ocean Springs, MS.; six great-grandchildren, Gabby Rodriguez, Ethan Rodriguez, Jacob Wade, J.J. Girouard, III all of Houston, TX., Alex Bowe and Zoey Bowe both of Colorado Springs, CO.; three nieces, Cathy, Christine, Cheryl "Missy" and two nephews, James "Doodle" and Elliott "Dink". The family would like to thank the wonderful nursing staff at the Ocean Springs Hospital MICU. Our deepest appreciation to Dr. Eva Magiros, Dr. Taylor and Dr. Babar. From the grandchildren: "Grandma always made you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was complete." Visitation will be on Monday, August 30, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Rosary. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
