Roland Benjamin Skinner

Mr. Roland Benjamin Skinner, 79, of N. Biloxi, MS, died Monday, April 6, 2009, in N. Biloxi. Mr. Skinner was a native and lifelong resident of the Coast. He attended Biloxi High School and was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, University of Tennessee and South Texas College of Law. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict, an avid fisherman and Charter Boat Captain of the Bonne Amie. Mr. Skinner was an attorney and practiced law for many years. He was the first City Attorney and City Prosecutor for the City of D'Iberville from 1988 through 1997. Mr. Skinner was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Bertha Skinner, and a brother, Manuel Skinner, Jr. He is survived by two sons. Jim R. Skinner of Gulfport, and Mark R. Skinner of Biloxi; sister, Birdie Mae Nell; three brothers, Edwin Skinner, Gerald Skinner, and Al Skinner. Visitation is Thursday, April 9, 2009, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue, in Biloxi. Graveside services will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to American Heart Association, Living Legacy Partnership, P O Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410.
