Roland Smith

Roland "Ron" Smith, 70 of Gulfport died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in Gulfport. Roland was a member of the American Legion Post #119, Gulfport and the Star Twirlers Square Dance Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Blanche Smith and his stepfather, Percy Bordwin. Survivors include his wife, Janet Lee Smith, daughter, Jennifer (Joel) Fitchie of Long Beach, sister, Barbara Bisson of Palm Bay, FL, brothers, Paul (Fran) Smith of Pittsville, MA, Gary Smith of MA, grandchildren, Christopher Fitchie and Theresa Fitchie. In lieu of flowers, family prefers donations to: Orange Grove Church of Christ, 15121 O'Neal Rd., Gulfport, MS 39503. Visitation is Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Service will be Monday, August 17, 2009 at 9:45 a.m. Both will take place at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, O'Neal Rd., Gulfport, MS. Interment is in Biloxi National Cemetery.
