Ronald Gary Allen, Sr. went peacefully to be with Jesus in his home on May 21, 2022.
Gary was born in Wilmington, NC on July 21, 1949. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1967 and resided in Fayetteville, NC until 1991 when he moved to Mississippi. Before he retired in 2011, he held various positions in the customer service and retail industry.
Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Hampton; father, William C. Allen, Sr.; brother, William C. Allen, Jr.; mother-in-law, Pat Hill; and sister-in-law, Cindy Watkins.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Wanda Allen. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie Allen Bowden (Bo); his brother-in-law, Martie Watkins; his son, Ronald G. Allen, Jr. and grandchildren, Jessie, Ana Cristina, Miguel and Sofia; his daughter, Christi Hauke (Brian) and their children, Jacob, Samantha and grandchild, Jayden. Gary is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kelly, Lainey, Dallas, Scott (Jes), Tatum, Eli, Zachery, Alex (Mariana), Julia, Liam, Nicholas (Pallen), and Dash.
Gary had an enormous love for his family. He was very proud of his role of grandfather and uncle. Gary had many loving dog children throughout his life and will be deeply missed by Maggie and Beaux.
He loved watching sports, especially the NC Tar Heels and the New Orleans Saints; old cowboy television shows and movies, particularly any that starred John Wayne; and listening to and singing ole time music and hymns. He loved fishing, camping and being outside.
Gary had a loving heart and was a friend to everyone he met. He will be remembered for his generosity and many acts of kindness.
The family wishes to express special gratitude to Dr. Manoj Shah, MD, nurse practitioner, Tara White, the staff at Coast Cardiology Center and staff of Fresenius Kidney Care Orange Grove for their compassionate medical care.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport. Friends may visit one-hour prior to service. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is honored to serve the Allen family.
In Lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be made in Gary’s honor to the American Heart Association.
