Ronald Simon Franklin, Sr., 82, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022 in California.
Mr. Franklin was born in Biloxi, MS on September 28, 1939 to Edward Gaines and Nelta Franklin. He graduated from Biloxi High School and Perkinston MGCC and served in the Army Reserves. Mr. Franklin was captain of crew boats out of Louisiana. He was a professional singer and dancer. Mr. Franklin was All State Defensive End #82. He was the owner of Franklin Signs, painting every sign in Ocean Springs and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mr. Franklin loved his family the most. He also loved hugs, laughter, traveling, adventure, camping, fishing, football, baseball, food, coaching, photography, riding the train, carpenter work, nature, singing, dancing, bowling and watching movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Franklin’s survivors include his children, Ronald Simon Franklin, Jr. and Tasha Monique Franklin; his brother, Gerald Gaines Franklin; his grandchildren, Caden Franklin and Addy Franklin; his favorite niece, Rose Franklin-Gennaro and her husband Billy; and his pets, Marlin and Charlie.
Funeral services will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Porter Avenue in Ocean Springs on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 3:00 pm. Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
