Ronald Colman Wheat Sr.

Ronald Colman Wheat, 84, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Ronald was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. He was a Navy veteran and a retired pipe welder from Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a devout Christian and prayer warrior who loved his family and his country. He was an avid fisherman and his hobbies were collecting antiques, raising animals of all kinds and gardening.  He was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed.

Ronald was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Titania Pauline “Bootsie” Wheat; his father, J.B. Wheat, Jr.; mother, Victorine Wheat Phillipello; step-father, Joseph Phillipello; brother, Jerry Wheat; infant sister, Patricia Ann Wheat and granddaughter, Jennifer Wheat DeShong Moore.  He is survived by his son Ronald (Annette) Wheat, Jr; daughter Rhonda (Tom) Jones; son Regan (Gayle) Wheat; daughter Shekindah (William) Wallace; sister, Gloria Garcia; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 911 Porter Ave., Ocean Springs on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Extended family and friends may visit from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM with the service beginning at 1:30 PM. Interment will immediately follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
