Mrs. Rosa M. Gurganus, 78, of Biloxi, MS, passed away, Friday, August 6, 2010, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Gurganus was born in Chicod, North Carolina and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 57 years. She was formerly employed with McVadon's Photography Studio for 30 years. She was an avid golfer and a member of Sunkist Country Club for 40 years, and a longtime member of Sunkist Ladies and Biloxi Ladies Golf Associations. She served as Captain of McDonald's Women's Team Challenge. She loved to square dance and was a member of Hash "n" Square's and many other square dance clubs.
Mrs. Gurganus is survived by her husband of 60 years, Wallace Gurganus; daughters, Pam Forchetti and her husband, Vance, Donna Jones and her husband, Melvin, and Susan Blaine and her husband, David; sisters, Dorothy Dowdle and Annie Lee Campbell; brother, William Moore; nine grandchildren, Lesley Hansford, Jason Jones, Laura Marconi, David Blaine, Matthew Blaine, Christy Blaine, Vincent Forchetti, Michael Forchetti, and Kirk Forchetti; and two great grandchildren, Cruz Marconi and Darsey Jones.
Funeral Service is 3:30 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2010, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers donation be made in Rosa's name to one's favorite charity .
