Rosalva “Rosi” B. Fontan, age 63, went home to our Heavenly Father Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 11:27 AM at Singing River Hospital, Ocean Springs.
Rosi was born June 8, 1957 in Brownsville, Texas to Tony and Frances Pineda. She was a graduate of El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, CA and attended Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA. She was named Miss Pico Rivera and was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary American Legion, post 1992. She worked in the hotel and hospitality industry for over 30 years, and worked most recently as a sales coordinator at Margaritaville in Biloxi.
She loved to fish and run marathons. Cooking for others made her happy, and she always put her family and others first. She will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by father Tony Pineda, spouse Bennie E. Fontan, and brother Tony Pineda.
She is survived by mother Frances C. Pineda, beloved sons Lee and Ricky Mcgowen, beloved stepchildren Tiffany Ronsonet, Brittany Southern, Destiny Fontan, and Kelsie Lovett, and grandchildren Jaxon, Bentley, Adalynn, Makenzy, and River. She is also survived by siblings Ruby Gomez, Roger Pineda, Melissa Pineda, Frances (Lances) Ellison, Julie (Daniel) Pineda-Thomas, and Patrick Pineda, many nieces and nephews from Mississippi and California, and her dog Foxy.
A visitation and viewing will be held Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Vancleave from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a service to immediately follow. A celebration of life will be held at American Legion Post 1992, 3824 Old Spanish Trail, Gautier, immediately following the service.
The family wishes to extended a special thank you to the American Legion/Woman’s Auxiliary Post 1992, the Margaritaville Biloxi family, and Kim Smith for her handling of the floral arrangements.
