Rose Mercedes Saujon, 92, of D'Iberville, MS went to see her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 4, 2010 and was reunited with her loved ones, her husband of fifty eight years, Harvey Saujon and her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Ritchey and many other wonderful people who came into her life. Mrs. Saujon was born in Whitewater, Colorado on October 11, 1917 and was a lifelong resident of the coast. She served in the United States Army in the medical field during World War II. After her time in the service, she attended cosmetology school where she was one of the few women to open a beauty shop. She was a pioneer in the beauty shop industry for 30 years. Rose was a devoted wife and friend. She touched so many people's lives, she especially enjoyed the coffee drinkers in the afternoon in her home. She loved to brighten each holiday with her needle point work to all her friends. Rose was also a very devoted Catholic and enjoyed and appreciated Ms. Maria Hardison for bringing her communion. Survivors include her beloved dog, Baby; a brother, Ronnie Ritchey of San Jose, CA; cousins, Hazel Evelyn Seale "Sister" of Mandeville, LA, Vaughen Seale of Mandeville, LA, Franchine Dodson of Denham Springs, LA, and Joan Guffey of Diamondhead, MS. Very devoted and dear friends, Bert Flecher and Gloria Anglado of D'Iberville, MS. Also very devoted caretakers Jeannie DeGeorge, Mary "Fe" Baugh, Rhodonna Giametta, and Janet Adams all from D'Iberville, MS. Rose will be greatly missed by her family and friends but we know she is in Heaven now still watching over us. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m until mass time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Bert Flecher, Paul Fayard, Donnie Martino, Steve DuPree, Vaughen Seale, Gary McGinn, Red Senseny and David Raymond. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Ave., Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
