Ross Gipson, Sr.

Mr. Ross Gipson, Sr., age 80, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Gipson was a resident of Ocean Springs since 1952. He served in the US Army and was a veteran of WWII. He was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding from 1952 until 1989 as a pipe welder. Mr. Ross was a people person and was in lawn maintenance with Randy Rigler Development. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Gipson and a son, Lane Gipson. Survivors include two sons, Ross Gipson, Jr and James T. Gipson, two sisters, Mildred Rayburn and Hazel Smith, three brothers, Charles Gipson, S.J. Gipson and Billy Joe Gipson, and two grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, December 7, 2007, from 6-8 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, December 8, 2007, there will be a 10 AM chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
