Roy E. Boone

M/Sgt. USAF Retired Roy E. Boone, 71, of Ocean Springs, MS died on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Biloxi. He was a native of Jayess, MS but had lived on the Coast for the past 30 years. He joined the USAF at the age of 17 and served honorably for 24 years before retiring in 1977 as a M/Sgt. After retirement, he began a career in the Civil Service which lasted for over 19 years. He was a devoted family man. He was also a volunteer fireman and a Mason. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Boone is survived by his wife of 50 years, Inge of Ocean Springs; daughter, Ruthie I. Bell and husband, Dale of Biloxi; son, Roy E. Boone, Jr. and wife, Linda of Bowie, MD; sisters, Francine Wicker of Madison, MS and Sarah Ruth Boone of Terry, MS; five grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations to the: Wildlife Care and Rescue Center Inc., P.O. Box 4424, Biloxi, MS 39535-4424. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at 12:30 pm. Both will be held at the Howard Ave. Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Biloxi National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
