Roy E. Necaise, Sr.

Mr. Roy E. Necaise, Sr., 62, of Gulfport, MS, died Sunday, July 4, 2010, in Gulfport. Mr. Necaise was born in Gulfport and remained a lifelong resident. He formerly served in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve and MS Air National Guard. He was a member of the Catholic faith, graduate of Gulfport High School and retired from Gulfport Fire Department after 20 years of service. Following retirement he joined the MS Regional Housing Authority and retired after 20 years as CEO. He then became President of South MS Housing and Development Corporation. His passion and hobby was pigeon racing and he was a member of the South MS Racing Pigeon Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Mr. Necaise was preceded in death by his parents, Everett E. and Elaine Necaise; son, Roy Necaise, Jr. and father-in-law, Carl Legett. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Laura Legett Necaise of Gulfport; two sons, Mike Necaise and Cory Necaise, both of Gulfport; his mother-in-law, Helen Legett; grandson, Jacob Necaise and great granddaughter, Addison Necaise. Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, in Gulfport where friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
