Roy Wayne Hutcherson, 50, of Biloxi, MS passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011. Roy was born and raised on the point in Biloxi and from a young age was working hard in our local seafood factories. After high school, Roy attended college to become a nurse's aid. At the age of 23 he learned he had congestive heart failure and would never work again but that did not stop him from doing all he could to help anyone that he could. From volunteering in the local food banks to taking care of friends and family as long as they needed him. Roy was known for his kind heart and his sense of humor even though he was not in the best of health. He always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. There was nothing he enjoyed more then being in the company of his friends and family, sharing good food and a good cup of coffee.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Rosa Lee Hutcherson; step-father, Preston Dennis; brothers, James and Jack Cook, Edward Dennis.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Hutcherson; brothers, Winford (Mae) Hutcherson, David (Karen) Dennis; sisters, Brenda (Rayford) Williams, Amelda Braddock. Also left are several nieces, nephews and a sea of friends to cherish his memory.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi. Friends may visit from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
