Royce R. Mattina

Mr. Royce R. Mattina, age 86,of Gulfport, MS, died Monday, July 21, 2014, in Gulfport. Mr. Mattina was born in Biloxi and remained a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a WW II Veteran of the Merchant Marines and retired from Struthers Wells of Gulfport. He was a self taught musician playing the piano and drums. Having lived his life thoughtfull and considerate of others, he will be missed. Mr. Mattina was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mattina; step-son, Gary Haley; parents, Ralph and Paula Mattina; sister, Shirley Rose Joullian; and brother, Ralph "Country" Mattina. Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Mattina; and two sons, Russell Mattina and Robert (Regina) Haley. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, at the committal shelter in the Biloxi National Cemetery. The family request that no floral arrangements be sent. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
