Mrs. Ruby Fayard Blaylock, age 80, of the White Plains Community, died at her daughter's home in Ocean Springs, on Thursday, June 30, 2005. She began her journey to her heavenly home surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Blaylock was born in D'Iberville. She was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She was a true joy to all who knew her, bringing love, cheerfulness and laughter into countless lives.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Willie E. Blaylock, her parents, Walter J. and Lillie McQueen Fayard, her sisters, Henrietta Swanzy and Joyce Borries, and her brother, Walter J. Fayard, Jr. Mrs. Blaylock is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Ann Hughes and husband, Johnny, grandson, Lex Lamey and wife Misti, and their children, Whitley, Victoria and Tevin, grandson, Johnny (Buddy) Hughes, Jr., granddaughter, Mary Ann Kostmayer and her sons, Garrett, Malcolm and Dominic, her sisters, Christine Webb, Marie Creel and Elwanda Cruse, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 2, 2005, from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by an 11 AM church service, at Big Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be in D'Iberville Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank all who have cared for Ruby during her illness, in particular, Dr. Richard Blair (Major, USAF) and the staff at Southern Care. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4803 Harrison Circle, Gulfport, MS., 39507.
