Ruby Lee (Woods) Lindsey
On November 29, 2009 the Lord opened his arms and welcomed Ruby Lee (Woods) Lindsey into his bosom. She was born September 16, 1943 in Gulfport where she spent her life and 47 years of marriage.
She was a homemaker until her children grew up and then she opened Ruby's Book Corner. After receiving a kidney transplant in 2006 she lived her life like she had been given a second chance. She was a beloved wife and mother and a revered grandmother and great-grandmother. Her passing has taken one of God's angels that walked on earth among us. A lifelong Christian, she served her Lord and attended Biloxi River Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Felica Woods; and six sisters, Marie Bracknell, Goldie Vaughn, Cleata Bullock, Margie Armstrong, Bargie Woods, and Charlene Woodard.
She is survived by her husband, James R. Lindsey; her son, James R. Lindsey, II and
wife Teri, and their son, James R. Lindsey, III and their daughter, Alesha Lindsey of Raymond, a daughter, Deloris Lukes and her daughter, Mandy Simmons and husband, David; and great-grandchildren Baleigh, Zach, and Daniel Lindsey, all of Saucier; sisters, Doris (Dean) Witt of Odessa, WA, Donnie (Cecil) Patterson of Gulfport, Barbara (Pete) Jackson of Perkinston, Linda (Larry) Clark of Forest, OH; a brother, Richard (Sharon) Woods of Gulfport; many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday , December 2, 2009 from 6 until 9:00 p.m. at Biloxi River Baptist Church in Gulfport. The funeral service will be Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach.
