Mrs. Porter was a resident of Long Beach for 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Long Beach, she was associated with Gospel Singers of America, and worked in the food pantry also at First Baptist. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her son George Edward Porter; parents Samuel and Eula Schilling; brother Hayward Schilling; and sister Dorothy Schilling. She is survived by her husband Erin Porter of Long Beach; daughter Marilyn Porter Lott and her husband Al of Perkinston; sister Glynn Wilcox of Pensacola, FL; and grandson Justin Q. Smith of Diamondhead. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on 15th Street in Gulfport. Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
