Ruth Delancey

Mrs. Ruth Delancey, age 79, of Vancleave, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 in Ocean Springs. Ruth was a lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast and spent her life taking care of her husband and raising her children with love and guidance for all. Mrs. Delancey was preceded in death by her husband of twenty five years, Wallace Ira Delancey; parents, E. E. and Ella Thomas; her sisters, Naomi Smith and Thelma Cates; brothers, George Thomas, James Thomas, Lawrence Thomas, Russell Thomas and Douglas Thomas. Survivors include her daughters, Sherry Johnson of Biloxi and Ruth Annette Barber; son, George (Kitty) Johnson of Vancleave; sister, Earlene Hudson of Success, MS; brothers, Eugene Earl Thomas of Latimer and Sherman Thomas of Stone County; four grandchildren, Sabrina Hoda of Vancleave, Michelle Breaux of Colorado, Brandy Foreman of Vancleave and Destiny Johnson of Biloxi; eight great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren plus one great great-grandchild expected in April. She is also survived by "Nanny's Girls". Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with a 12:00 p.m. service on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. Interment to follow at Bethel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Latimer.
