Ruth Marie Bowen-Tobias

Ruth Bowen Tobias, age 70, of Ocean Springs, passed away at her residence surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, February 1, 2009. Mrs. Tobias was formerly of Bath and Isle Au Haut, ME. She has been a resident of Ocean Springs for the past twenty five years. She was a member and past president of Lady's Auxiliary of BPOE 2501 in Ocean Springs, as well as a past Mardi Gras Queen of the Krewe of Elks. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Doris Bowen. Survivors include her husband, Charles Tobias of Ocean Springs; two daughters, LaVon (Stan) Keach of Albuquerque, NM and Valerie (Phil) Carr of Ocean Springs; two sons, Gene (Kristi) Nygaard of Bath, ME and Ronald (Traci) Nygaard of West Bath, ME; three step-sons, Karl Tobias of Honolulu, HI, Kevin and Keith Tobias, both of Racine, WI along with 10 grandchildren. Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes, where friends may visit two hours prior to service.
